Is Checkers a better game then Chess?

Everybody knows this.

Well, for me checkers, solitaire, dominoes, block puzzles, billiards (check out the fantastic Pool Break Lite 3D on Play Store) etc. are good ALTERNATIVE to and/or BREAK from CHESS. I like a bit of break from chess after a game or two.

Checkers is taken just as seriously as chess by the people who play it and I don’t understand the fascination of chess players to degrade it to make themselves feel superior.  

Myself and others play both seriously and unless you play both and play them properly and seriously you are just showing ignorance by saying checkers is an easier or simpler game than chess.  It is simpler to learn initially but that’s it.

IT IS A TOTALLY DIFFERENT GAME.  Like GO or XIANGQI.  Just because you yourself prefer chess don’t put down what others enjoy.   

If you do play both.  Come and join our club here which is growing from strength to strength and is somewhere we can speak about checkers (or draughts) without getting harassed or put down just because the game we love happens in some variants to use the same board as chess does.

Why is it necessary to put down other games and the people who play them.   It isn’t necessary.

That's blasphemy, FFS!   There is luck in checkers!  Enough said!  But more, chess is history, the queen is Lorraine of France, the Peasants Revolt took place in 1381, the Knights Tour took place during the Crusades, chess is modeled after society, thats why bishops stand next to the king and queen, always whispering in royalty's ears, meddling in politics, even tho their tax exemption is predicated on being apolitical, that's why the bishops move along the diagonal, they are too crooked to move straight, and can only move on one color, because they can only see their own world view, like real bishops, they are blind to all else! That's why knights move to the side when they stop, that's what a real warhorse does if he is galloping fast and you reign him in short, to dissipate the forward energy, he stops, but steps to the side.  Do you know why pawns can move two spaces on their first move?  Because they are so ambitious to become queens, so they eagerly enter the fray.  Do you know why pawns can only move one space after that?  Once they've seen the bloody battle lines, they aren't so bold, or so ambitious anymore! Do you know why pawns attack on the diagonal?  Because they are carrying shields and have to move the shield to the side to stab around it. Chess is life, chess is rich, chess is the game of people with gentle manners and sharp minds, chess has brilliant strategies, and chess is art! Checkers is a game.  Dayum!  Just the mere comparison makes my head explode!

I’ve had enough of ignorant people who think one game is better than another.  Respect and tolerance.  No wonder the world is in trouble.
