ChessKids is safe but chess.com is not as safe.

Not safe at all and also full of engine users supported by chessxom

Are you talking about chesskids. You have no idea about how good chesskids is . And I think the company owning chess.com is not reliable for security.

Chess kids is definitely more secure, but that app has more activity’s that could be called video games.

Chess is the best video game of all time. No patches, rule changes, or graphics update in 1000 years yet still so popular!

There was a major patch roughly 500 years ago, when several pieces were buffed (queen, bishop, pawn) and some rules were changed. And there were many smaller patches.

Do you think chess.com is a video game?

I think the first thing you should do is learn the difference between chess.com (a company) and chess (a game).

I could take that as an insult, but I know you weren’t trying to be rude.
That’s why I specified is “chess.com” a video game. You see I didn’t say is “chess” a video game.
Of course I know it’s different. I know chess originated out of India in the 6th century.

I didn’t ask if “chess” was a video game, I asked if playing chess on chess.com was a video game.

this makes no sense at all bcuz chess was invented before electronic devices and it the first ever board game and also games wasn't even invented until the 1950's or the 1980's sooooooo I don't really think its even a video game

I thought checkers was the first board game? Playing chess is definitely not a video game, but chess.com has gamified is in a way.

Avatar of Honchkrowabcd

yeah, even if you can play it in real life if you are playing on chess.com it still a video game because you are playing it on a device

Chess is older than checkers. Parcheesi is older than both.

There are other board games even more ancient, such as the one depicted in Egyptian wall paintings.

It's classified as a game-based social media website

Actually checkers is believed to be older with early forms of checkers dating back to around 3000 B.C. in Mesopotamia and ancient Egypt. Chess is believed to have originated from an early Indian game called Chaturanga. I don’t know about parcheesi though, you’re probably right about that..

There were games 3000 BCE, but their resemblance to checkers are remote and speculative. The first checkered playing boards were used for chess.

That’s what I was thinking. So we’re both right in a matter of speaking.

No tbh and for some reason I feel like there are people who think that chess.com created chess
Chess is here decades before videos were even a thing

Of course, this is not The Witcher or GTA, but by definition, any tabletop game that is transferred to a monitor or smartphone screen with the addition of some gaming elements automatically becomes a digital game.
