Is Chess for Nerds

Who you are is not what other people say you are.
I can say that i am not a nerd. All other aspects of my life aren't what is thought of as "nerdy", but I enjoy chess and I enjoy i can play online. My friends would have no idea how to play and I like it that way. Playing chess online is my little outlet.
I find it rather interesting that activities like chess are often seen as unpopular in school environments. While activities like taking drugs and being street rats are seen as some how superior and exist within the realm of the 'popular'.
chess is for chess nerds. We are nerds. Look at my picture, i dont look like a nerd, but I sure as hell know I'm a chess nerd.

HA! I say let them call you a nerd, I live with a couple roommates who see me play and feel the need to yell NERD! everytime. But I love chess and want to play for the fun of the game ( or sport, -keep up the debate- :) ). But standing at 6'5 and 350 lbs and played football since the age 5 with hopes of playing college ball, I spent 2 out of 4 years of high school playing chess during lunch, only to go to my next class which was football class, and "kicked butt, and crushed skulls" as the typical jock. I hung out with "nerds", was a "jock", and ditched class with the "punks". So I refer to my previous statement and say let them call you nerd. ( and if it bugs you still, just remember that the nerds and geeks, go on to be the boss of the people who teased them. )
we are chess nerds.there are math nerds. slang for smart people(or weird people)is nerd. there are hockey jocks. there are football jocks.jock is slang for athletic people.

To tell u the truth, If ur into this game, play a lot, wanting to get better, wanting to be stronger, U've got a little nerd in you. I've heard people say only nerds play this game, but they're not far from the truth. If u find yourself constantly immersed in the game, u are nerd at heart. And truthfully, U've gotta have at least the heart if u wanna get better at this game. I can say I'm nerd :-)

Heh. Reading you pansies gripe and complain on this forum about every little tiny thing under the sun forces me to give that question a resounding yes. I mean for gods sake, how insecure would you have to be to even start this thread?

This is the kind of guy you will generally deal with regarding Chess and its "Nerdy" quality, Chess_Champion26.
The best policy is to just ignore them, feeding the troll only makes him bigger.
And if your friends have a problem with Chess, just shrug it off. They probably can't play.
