Databases and everything allow more people to pretend they are good players longer than they can in OTB chess. I think people are just as lame as ever. Take away the electronic crutch and watch them flop around like fish out of water.
Is chess getting more competitive

with all the internet chess going on is the competition improving or am I not.
Score has stayed about the same over the years while play seems to have improved at least according to fritz. Is the competition getting better or am I in a rut?
