Is drawing arrows during a game actually allowed?

I recently played a 3 days game, and I started using the arrows while thinking about my next moves, but I was wondering whether that was actually considered cheating or unsportsmanlike (after all, it would not be possible to use the arrows on a physical board).  Is that tool supposed to only be used during game analysis?  Chess.com doesn't prevent their use during the game but I could see how that could be considered unfair to an opponent who plays only by visualizing the moves in their head.

It allowed and in Daily there's a built in analysis board where you can test variations in the board (there's no engine) so you don't even need arrows.
