Ok ok let's be seeerious. Vlad, the content of a thread dictates it's popularity with the membership, those that appeal to the masses are viewed more, commented on more, and thus stay at the top of the list. Those that don't appeal to the masses sink down into the sewer, no matter how good, relivant, brainy, or of vital importance to the world the OP "thinks" it is. What you think is quality chess discussion just may be boring garbage to others, like it or not.

The thing is, I want to be able to discuss chess literature, chess philosophy, and chess theory, not just improve skill wise. I enjoy discussing chess as much as I love a good tactics puzzle or a Kingscrusher video. I thought the forums would be a perfect place to do this.
Older guy says to his doctor. Hey doc can you give me a prescription to get rid of this bald spot. Doctor doesn't even look at him and says, "...just keep using what you're using on your ears, nose and eyebrows!

Vlad is correct. Discussing chess is not exclusive to experts and masters. It is just a game after all so anyone can participate.

Vlad please don't misunderstand. The reality is that every mind is a universe. It is sometimes very difficult to reach a parallel perspective with that other mind. And, if at any point during, and after the communication you offend in ways that you are not even aware of, well good luck with that individual.

Nothing wrong with serious conversation, but conversation that actually goes to the trouble of professing its (self-ascribed) seriousness and importance at the outset tends to, justifiably, elicit a few raised eyebrows and sarcastic jabs.
The overwhelming majority of us here make idiots of ourselves on a regular basis, intentionally or not, but apparently only some of that overwhelming majority realizes it.
All the same, excellent work on an entertaining thread, Vlad. Ain't got no hate for you.
