Is it just me, or are the servers particularly flaky today?

I have had 4 games today where it's been interrupted by a disconnection, and refreshing the page gives me "please wait, it's taking longer than usual to connect"

It's not an internet connection issue at my end. Every other website works fine.

Anyone else having similar problems today?

I should add - eventually if I keep refreshing, the game will reappear.

I'm not auto-resigned from the game - again showing that it's not just my internet connection - because in that case, my opponent would be awarded the win.

It is also not aborting the game - just kicking me (and, I think, my opponent) off for a while.

I can confirm, internet connection is fine (tried different providers, Vodafone, T-mobile, etc) but servers disconnect during multiple games in a row

 Thanks for the info

This happened to me today. Opponent was stalling in losing position for 8 minutes. And this happened right before 4 mins left. And game just disappeared.

I reported it to support but they seem to have a lot on their plate, nothing returned so far.

Chess.com has a lot of server upkeep due to attacks. It should fix itself, assuming the tech monkeys are awake grin.png

The site had some issues and also restarted the play server. Everything is resolved as I understand it.

Love it when chess.com does a server restart without telling about it before. Lichess is for free and they announce it so that you can see it when playing. So Lichess you see that there is a server restart. And chess.com? You play a game, you are clearly winning, your opponent has 2 seconds left - and the game aborts. I wonder how a site that takes so much of your money can be that bad at the same time.

There is a banner leading up to the restart, at least on the web.

I played in the browser. Maybe another reason caused the issue and there was no restart? Don’t know.
