I was just saying to someone this morning...
You know what is never discussed in the chess.com forums?
No...what?
No one discussing leaving nasty comments on someones wall, and how to report it.

why do people leave nasty notes for you
Basically trolls.
Sometimes one is mad when you beat them.
Sometimes when I won't give them a thousand rematches because I have crap to do other than play chess all day.
Once, I was playing bughouse and I sacrificed my bishop (a sacrifice I use that often pays off). My bughouse partner called me an idiot, resigned the game, and left me a nasty note. He was so concerned with losing that he resigned because... logic.
Mind you I was rated several hundred rating points higher than this fool.
How about the ones who send you a barrage and then block you so you can't reply? Yep, looks like they're all bozos on this bus...
People do that on Facebook a lot too.
It's the equivalent of yelling something outside of a car and driving away. Such a (synonym for cat) thing to do!
It's their way of displaying their level of emotional maturity, after showing their chess level of mental ability.
Or there's the ones who make cheating accusations because they are upset over losing. I have two OTB friends, both excellent players, who have cheating accusations posted on their profile here. Neither of them would do that, for one reason they don't care enough about online play, besides are honest and care about chess. The older one is rated over 2300 OTB, and had someone accuse him of cheating because they lost, and maybe because his profile had him at a lower rating until the number could stabilize. It's such a big problem to have these accusations flying around. Makes people paranoid of each other, takes away from the enjoyment of the game. It's bad enough that a tiny minority are doing actual cheating, but the false accusations happen far more often than the cheats.

Accusations of cheating are the truest form of flattery
Someone said that to me regarding a 2 minute crazy house game. How it is possible to use a program for either a 2 minute game or crazy house, I'll never know.
People who leave nasty notes are by definition beneath notice. Why would you want to respond? Who wants to get in a mud wresting contest with a pig? Or a poop-flinging contest with a monkey?
I leave any and all notes up on my profile page. I like to use it as a reminder of how people can be.

That is a good point. I usually just delete stuff. Sometimes I feel the need to respond with: "I beat you 4 times, I have sh*t to do, move on.".
But I guess I don't owe anyone an explanation.
I feel left out. Can someone give me a nasty note? Usually my wife and kids give me a yellow daddy note. The dog poos when I am not careful in the morning while tying my tie and suit jacket, but the cat's wise decision to drink water and meow to wake me up gives me promise that I don't give a shit if they get my message back. Why include them in my life? Why do they care? I still have mice, gerbils, and newts to take care of. I have my hands full before I reverse my Mercedes Benz out of the driveway. What about you? Do you give a crap what people say about you? I am sorry if you do.
It should please you to know that you got your first mean message, from yours truly.
The reporting culture is the worst. If you ask me, I say grow some thicker skin, you pitiful reptiles.
I don't think anyone should have notes disabled, it's a weak move.
Try Buffchix Mode.
I agree. I am in no means crying about the notes themselves... Just the b**ch-made action of talking smack then running. Lol
But what did you say? What was so mean about it?
Something about "coward, runs away after losing".
I don't like when someone beats me and then keeps sending me an infinite amount of rematch requests, it's annoying af. After 2 games we're through (unless I wanna do a tie-breaker).
Some people just want to keep getting rating points so if they are better than me (or I'm having a good day) they're gonna keep asking for rematches.
It comes across as very desperate. Besides, what are you gonna do with rating points, they aren't currency, folks worry about them too much.
"Some people just want to keep getting rating points so if they are better than me (or I'm having a good day) they're gonna keep asking for rematches."
Why is this wrong or bad? They are allowed to live in the infinite wisdom of rating points. Who are us to deny them?

I noticed a few times I'd have a couple of trolls write rude notes on my page for whatever reason... (I beat them in a game, they wanted a thousand rematches and I wanted to play someone else, etc...)
I noticed when I try to respond back, they have no option to write them back.
Is this done intentionally?
It seems like such a cowardly thing to do. If you're gonna talk trash, man up and be prepared for the rebuttal.
It's like farting in a crowded elevator and leaving.
