I think there must be just an algorithm basen on probability. For example 15% each move to blonder and just sometimes the odds can be more on his side.
Is it just me or is Martin way better than I thought?
I guess but it's interesting as there are countless videos online showing Martin losing even when the other side only has a few pawns or Martin has several queens where I feel like he wouldn't really do that.
Martin's always clowned on for being the worst chess bot, and he is, but I feel like he's been playing way better. It's always shown Martin playing trash openings and throwing out random moves and blundering, but every time I play him nowadays, he actually plays real, good openings and doesn't blunder every move. Also, Gothamchess (allegedly) defeated Martin even when he had 30 queens, yet (even though I'm much worse) I can't even beat Martin when he has 2 extra queens for his rooks (although, strangely, he seemed to be playing the best move each time even after changing the bot in "Practice vs Computer," which is probably a bug in that case and I wasn't actually playing against Martin). I can't just be the one who feels Martin has gotten way better, and if anyone has any real explanation for that, I would love to know.
