Is it normal to lose at the 500 level with fairly high accuracy from both players?

Okay, I recognize this is a bit of a "frustrated with losing" post, but...

I'm 861 in rapid. I've been playing blitz lately and am only 550 or so in that. I've been having quite a few losses lately, and when I analyze them, both my opponent and I will be playing in the 75 to 80 percent accuracy rating. That just seems odd for the level.

I don't know enough about levels of chess to know if this is normal. I would expect 500s to be playing more like 50% accuracy when they're doing pretty well.

Hmm. I have never seen a table of average accuracy scores for 500 rated players. Where did you come up with your numbers?

They did just revise the accuracy calculations. It possible that average scores changed. This article announced the changes:

I bet the new accuracy calculations are what I'm noticing. It was pretty rare to see accuracy near 90% from lower players with the old calculations.

Players get discouraged when they have really low accuracies. Chesscom doesn’t want players to feel discouraged. Solution? Inflate accuracies.

It happens I think

That's what I'm thinking. My games are almost always in the 70s and 80s now. I'd rather it say I played horribly if I played horribly.
