iPad chessboard doesn’t use full screen

In the iPad app, if the display zoom settings are set to “more space”, the chess board is tiny and stuck in the former of the screen. Weirdly, this seems to be only for live game modes. AI games and training still use a full size chess board.

Developers know about that and the current solution is to turn that setting off.

will it get an update or an option in the settings to size the board manually ? it is really annoying and i need the "more space" setting but hate it for the chess games.

Months and still not fixed, I uninstalled the app on ipad. With the outages that happened not long ago I moved away from chess.com and I don’t plan on renewing my diamond subscription this year. Chess.com has been such a disappointment.

Months?! You'd be lucky of if the bug gets fixed within an year or two. That's just how it is now. Non-critical bugs take a loooong time to get fixed.

I have this problem since upgrading to the 2024 13” model, even without the iPad display zoom setting on.

Same! It’s the only thing about this new iPad that isn’t awesome.

Please fix asap. 🙏🏼 I’ll need to switch to Lichess until this is resolved as my older eyes require the full screen.

That isn’t a solution, that is called a “work around”. Setting can’t be turned off.

Yeah, I don't have an iOS device. In a previous OS version it was a setting that could be turned off I think. Now it just needs to be Default.

Yes it's a workaround but until it's fixed that's the available option.

With the new iPad Pro models the problem is there even when Display Setting is set to Default.

It is much worse with the 13 inch ipad Pro, but the 11 has the issue, too. I have not had the same problem with older iPads. Hope this is something that Chess.com can look into and fix!
