Is it okay to listen to music while playing chess?

Try playing an instrument such as a guitar or mandolin while playing chess. If you don’t focus on either one per se, they both improve.....
yeah why not? every time you lose you can blame the music now 😂
If it helps you, why not? Of course on OTB games it is not very good idea if music disturb your opponent.
Listening to music with lyrics and playing chess is a little hard. 
I enjoy some passive background music. It's not enough to steal focus. It all really depends on if you're bothered by it.
for me its easy to play with music as i love it
