I would like to thank everyone for giving there input about this subject I will do what most people find to be the right decision and will be a better person. My intentes were not to be mean and I feel like maybe a few people didn't understand that. But once again thank you for input and will improve from here.

I got a call from the Suicide Squad and they've been considering tagging me, which I think they have already. A lot of internet dwellers have treated people disrespectfully online, and seek redemption. Your attempt is endearing Cute_Catgirl.

May I ask what attempt? If I knew me saying gg before the end of the game was rude I wouldn't ask and keep to my self.I was asking a general question and thanking everyone for it.

I just want to quote this, for the record.

It's rude to say gg under any circumstance. Educated folks say "handshake" after the game finish.

bro just do it after the game is done ¯\_^~^_/¯

*cough* totally didn't happen to me... up mat in one and I lost the queen but I didn't say gg before the blunder

In my opinion,  saying gg before the game ends is disheartening for me cause every time they say that I'm either getting flagged or mated, then they just stall there hoping for you to resign and to make them look cool and you like an idiot

It is polite to thank your opponent for the game, whether you lost or won. But if you think gg is too cool, then maybe just gg yo.

That is the absolute worst time to send it.

Better to send a GG just before you get mated.

It's fine because, as you say, if you sent it afterwards, it wouldn't be seen. All the same, there are those who dislike it. They may be types who cry at everything so it's your choice completely.  I never send "good game" at all, unless it's been a good game and probably not even then.

I couldn't agree more. I say good game if it's a good game. I never say it if it wasn't a good game. So saying it has everything to do with whether or not it was a good game, and (for me) nothing to do with when it's sent.

Of course the possibility exists that the last remaining move, or moves, could prevent the whole game from being good. But that isn't something I would worry about. In fact more than a few times I've said "this is a really good game" at move 15, 20, or 30. Long before the game is over.

So I think saying gg one or two moves before the game is over is perfectly fine IF it's genuine.

It would be mocking your opponent. But I recommend such intentional mocking if you're about to checkmate a guy who been playing on with only his lone king against your entire armada. Then we can say that the dork asked for it. Otherwise, for example, if the opponent missed a brilliant mating attack by you, it's best to not say anything to them. They may be upset, and there's absolutely no reason to further fuel their frustrations. Even if your intentions are good, they can't read your mind - only read the plain text happy.png

Yes, I consider it rude for someone to say "gg" before checkmating someone. It shows arrogance and is quite rude. Just wait until mate is delivered to say "good game". Be sincere and kind towards others!

what if it was a force mate that was premoved. and you say gg before the premove ends in a checkmate

Avatar of DreamscapeHorizons

It's best to say "gg beeotch, take this!  How do u like that?!!"

They love it.  Don't forget to screenshot their responses & post them on here.

Or, just say good game whenever you actually mean it. If it's one move before checkmate, why does it matter? If someone is going to be offended because you say "gg", I doubt it matters when you say it.
