Is it tougher to get the same rating in blitz as in rapid?

I used to play tournaments and correspondence way back. I started playing on lichess. I have about a 1750 rapid rating playing 10-5, but about 300 points lower in blitz playing 5-3. Is that because the scale is different or am I just better at rapid?

Hmm.

You haven't played here in almost 7 years.

I conclude that you want advice about how things work on lichess.

I don't know.

I have heard that all the ratings are very inflated at lichess compared to FIDE and USCF over the board ratings.

My personal opinion and from experience (at the 1400-1800 bracket on both sites) is there are a combination of factors for rating difference between rapid and blitz for both sites.

Regardless of the reasons, I stick to 15/10 for rapid because that is a FIDE official time control if you want to bare some resemblance to a standard.

For blitz, I stick to 5/5 or 5/3 because I can score accurately and it’s the closest time controls to 10/0 which is technically blitz again under FIDE but categorized as rapid on chess.com

My lesson learned, is there are time controls for everybody so just stick to what you are best at or enjoy.
