Is there a way to disable king protection?

It’s called check and is a vital part of the game. Every time your king is king check, you must get out of check. You cannot put yourself in check. When the king cannot get out of check, it’s checkmate, and you lose.

You can view 'check' as a "king protection" device in the rules. If the rules of chess permitted you to ignore check then your king would captured on your opponent's next move, which would be the end of the game anyway so it would be always a bad idea to ignore it. Chess wouldn't be so much fun if players were allowed to blunder their king.
Every time my king able to be taken by an opponent, I am forced to move another piece to protect it. Is there any way to disable that?
