Is there an amateur OTB database?

Hello everyone I was wondering if there’s an OTB database but, for amateur chess players? Reason being is because when I play OTB and have some time to prep for my opponent it would be nice if I could take a look at there otb games and see there openings/style.

Hmmm...

I would like to know as well. It would be nice if someone else chimed in.

Probably not because a lot of players keep their scoresheets and the games can't go into a database if you don't have the moves.

Chushoudelu

The Chess Tempo database includes tournament games from FIDE players, going as low as 1001 Elo.

On the top right, you'll see a dropdown menu for the database. By default, it's set to "2200+ vs. 2200+". But you can change that setting to "All Games" if you want to include untitled player games, as well.

Assuming your opponent has a FIDE ID, you should be able to find their tournament games in there ... (if that's what you're looking for).

Besides, with almost everyone using nicknames, how you gonna search through the games?   Good luck finding games by "ricorat" in the master games search lol

Yes lol

When you google your opponent's real name you can sometimes find games.

Some of my old games are out there... no idea who uploads this stuff. I think some TDs do it for all the games (or used to).

In other words it's not just masters and such with their games online. Umm... but low rated players tend to change their openings ever few months so... good luck with that lol.

Not really looking to play beginners, just trying to prepare for OTB

Hey!... I just checked and nine of my old OTB tournament games (from 1974) are in the 365chess data base.

An old acquaintance of mine said about 10 of his games appeared in chessgames.com one day... all losses. Our best guess was it must have been someone who didn't like him or something.

I looked myself up and I saw nothing. Probably because I've only played 5 games OTB xD

blueemu

The same nine games are in chessbase.

I'm famous!... or maybe notorious.

Notoriety isn't as good as fame, but it's better than being ignored.

Nine games!  Wow!  From what events?

My participation in the canadian junior championship, representing my part of the country.
