you may need to disable touch move from your settings, go here http://www.chess.com/home/echess_settings and make sure that under Move Preferences the "I will click the SUBMIT button to confirm my move." radio button is selected.
Is there any way you can accidently do a move without hitting submit button?

I did the queen take pawn just to see the position and it did it before I hit submit as I obviously didn't want it... I was wondering if shift then doing the move automatuically does it or if it just bugged?
EDIT: he agreed to a draw so I didn't lose a lot but it is very anoying as I had a much better early game.
