Promoting to a Q could result in stalemate whereas a R or B might leave an escape square for their K allowing you to checkmate them later.
Is there ever a reason to promote to a rook or bishop instead of a queen?

I have been wondering about this for a while. I know at times a promotion to knight is more useful, since the queen can't replicate knight moves, but since she can do everything a rook or bishop can, why is promotion to rook or bishop even an option?
