Can somebody explain me why my last game end up to a draw? (also with unsuficient material?!?) I'm quite sure it was not, and mate in 1 for me. Ok i don't care if I lost points, I just simply want to know if i'm wrong or if I became totally crazy..  :)

Sorry but I dont know how to insert the game here (I'll try though) but you can see it on my profile. It was a bullet game against the oponent "baltimoreboy".

thanks in advance

Seems like a bug to me. You definitely had an obvious mate in 1.

rooperi

I think you ran out of time, and it's a draw because your opponent did not have mating material. If he had even 1 pawn, you would have lost

WhitePawn

Or they "won" on time but can't mate with just the king so it's a draw.

Edit: Beaten to it. Laughing

adamplenty

It would say won on time, rather than game drawn, if he ran out of time.

and the strange is that during the game, after Qg2++ (which doesn't appear on the move list) apeared game drawn.

Not if the person winning on time had insufficient material. It would say "Draw - Insufficient Material" as it does now.

You lost on time just before you moved.

noclass

no, no, for sure wasnt the time,i remember veeery well i had 4 sec and waiting to make my final move.

and besides as you can see, it apeared "Game drawn - insufficient material" after making my last move (Qg2)

noclass

but if i had lost on time, it woudn't say draw but loss!

rooperi

Qg2 was not played, the queen is on e2

WhitePawn

No, if you lost on time and your opponent did not have enough material to mate, the game is drawn, by Insufficient Material.

"If a player runs out of time and the opponent calls the time, then the player who ran out of time loses the game (unless the opponent does not have enough pieces to checkmate, in which case it is a draw)."

ok i think i manage to insert the game, although go directly to move 51 and check it out

noclass

i m really sure i played Qg2 and AFTER apeared the draw box.

thenextprodigy

Happened to me too (I lost 1 move from mate instead of draw though). You ran out of time but they couldn't possibly checkmate you so it was draw by insufficient material.

51... Qh2#

runjimbobrun

In bullet games(especially is you're using a laptop) you should always go for the quickest move. Qf1++ would've been much faster(in terms of millisecs.) than Qg2++. Live, Play, and Learn. Btw, nice game, No wasted tempos.

noclass

ok so to conclued, i lost because i run out of time, but in fact i draw because my opponent hadn't enough material to mate me.

bye the way, thanks for the answers, at least from this experience i learn a new chess rule, although personlay it seems to me very weired..

I don't think it's possible, since I believe the server doesn't save the info required for that.

You're right it's not possible. Six months ago, in another thread, piotr said that the servers are saving the timestamps, and we should see timestamps soon in archived games. I hope they implement it soon; it's been a long time coming.
