I think Magnus is the worst champion thru out history of chess. We don't criticise him. We just look at him and ask what kind of bad chess he plays.
is this a fair criticism aganst Magnus

These days it is not enough to win the WCC in a match and go undefeated. I mean, thats good and all, but it would help if Magnus had some pet crazy theory to peddle, like Scientology or Hollow Earth or something. A sane champion is too dull. If he pretended to be crazy he could make more money.
Yeah. If he were like superking or something, amirite?

This reminds me of when Maurice Ashley was telling Magnus during the Sinquefield Cup that he could teach Magnus a thing or two about football & Magnus responded with "I could teach you a thing or two about chess".
Fischer had a great thing going, he could have made millions with the "I know I am leading the tournament, but I complained about the lights and they didnt bend to my will so I am pulling out" routine. People eat that crap up.
Gata Kamsky and his dad had a good comedy routine going too when he was younger. They could made a fortune with that routine if they took it on the road.
Akiba Rubinstein was ahead of his time. Swatting at imaginary flies during a game? Genius! ifa WC Champ did that today they could just sit back and rake it in.
I wish I could be Magnus's manager. I would have him study some Steinitz for inspiration. Not the games, of course, those are too lame. I mean the "I could give GOD pawn and move!" stuff. Brilliant! And free publicity on youtube. With me as his manager he could retire rich in 5 years easy.
I think he's already financially comfortable if he retired tonight.

Morphy was another genuine psycho. That business with the women's shoes? Priceless.
