Is this acceptable or considered sandbagging?

I started low, made sure I wouldn't get my rating jacked up. ________ are making excuses for the site, but I want to incrementally get points. So, I want to offset the stupid rating increase to a point where a win is not excessive. When I do it the other way, playing with 100s of points and then losing points which is tantamount to slow sandbagging on chess.com's part, I learn NOTHING from the games. I would rather go from easy to difficult gradually, 10 points per game.
