Bigger than that. I just use the standard size that is used when I start typing.

10 but it's a pain having to adjust it EVERY TIME.  We should be able to choose it once and have it stick.

Everybody should use the same size. Easier to read.

if i want to emphasize something, i use ALL CAPS

I used to play on a chess site that was bought out - they are now World Chess Live - and if you used ALL CAPS when communicating with other players they sent you a warning threatening to keep you off the site for a while.  They considered ALL CAPS aggressive, threatening and evidently rude.  JERKS.  I wonder why they're no longer in business?

I use the default, since that's the font to which I am used to using.
