I like that photo of Vishy, no doubt contemplating some esoteric chess position that the likes of you and I could only scratch the surface of. My thoughts are Vishy is still a top player and is making Carlsen (who many consider to be one of the strongest players of all time) work hard to retain the title, despite age being against him. He is definitely worthy of his place at the board.

Yes he's too old; at this point we can only hope FIDE steps in and puts a halt to this before it's too late.
I do not think there is an age limit when one should stop practicing chess. The only sign suggesting you should find another activity is when you are starting to wonder what your name is.
Look at Korchnoi or Lasker - both still very strong at their 70-s.
No doubt Vishy's memory is still very good. He won 3rd game of the WCC by remembering no less than 24 moves in a difficult, tricky line.
As for blunders, everyone makes them, even great Magnus or perfect Caruana (legendary Fischer or Kasparov, too!).
He's so old that he dominated the candidates tournament and got into the WCC again. Every top young player had every chance in the world against im.

Whether he is old or not the two facts are 1. Carlsen is still only 2-1 ahead . If Anand was so worthless then Carlsen should have slaughtered him 7-0 by now 2. He still beat all the others , old and young alike to challenge Carlsen . So he is better than all the others .......
Too old to practise chess ? lol, no. I think you need to google Korchnoi to see its possible to practise chess until a very high age successfully.
But Anand *is* starting to feel his age a bit I think. He is still very strong, but he is past his peak playing strength. A peak strength Anand vs Carlsen would have been a better match to watch for sure.
Makes me think that there is something seriously wrong with how one qualifies for the wcc.
This is just a one sided match like last year.
