I've reached 1400 on this site after just three months of learning to play chess!

I would like to one day go above 1600 but seeing as most people on this site get stuck for a long time, I was wondering how much effort I have to put in place to get better.
i took 6 months to reach 1600 in live standard...in 8 or 9 month i reached 1800..
so is my progress good and what does it take to get to 1600 + rating since that is my long term goal?
