I had the pleasure of meeting Judit Polgar at the 2007 U.S. Open in Cherry Hill, NJ.  She is a very impressive woman.  Not only is she a GM, she also organizes scholastic tournaments for females and holds a professional position with the USCF.  She has already done a tremendous amount of great things for the growth of the game of chess and continues to do so.

Are you sure you're not thinking of her sister Susan?  I don't think Judit ever held a position with USCF, whereas Susan does (or did), and I'm pretty sure Susan also actively organizes chess events for girls ...

Actually Judit is the only member of the Polgar family which has stayed in Budapest. Zsuzsa is the one that resides in Texas, while the other three members of the Polgar family live in Toronto. Zsuzsa is a former women world champion, but she is nowhere close to Judit, regarding playing strength. Judit is the strongest female player ever by a HUGE margin.

I thought Zsofia lived in Israel, and Lazslo and Klara lived in Budapest/Israel (depending on the time of year) ... when did they move to Toronto?

Zsofia moved to Toronto from Israel together with hubby (GM Yona Kosashvili), Lazslo and Klara since 2006. She gave up chess a long time ago, currently she is an artist (painter).

Does anyone here think she could challenge for he world championship? Imagine the hype if she did.

She played in the 2005 world championship tournament, so she did challenge for it. But unfortunately she came last (still #8 in the world, of course). http://www.mark-weeks.com/chess/a4a5$wix.htm
