I care! I am someone. Does it impact me directly? No. Do I care? Yes. Congratulations on this milestone LHiverArrive happy.png

Sure OTB "matters" a little bit more, but honestly I don't really care too much about anyone's OTB rating other than my own. The key is not the rating, but the fact that a goal of yours was met - and that I care about simply as another human being.

Once again, congratulations; online accounts for something.

Thanks everyone! yeah, I know OTB probably matters more, but this is a good sign for when I get back into the swing of things, and join some more tournaments happy.png

Congrats bro welcome to the club! I got to 2000 about 3 weeks ago!! Took me so many games in the 1900’s to finally break through.

Play some bullet or rapid for a couple days so you can enjoy being 2000 without fear of losing it for a couple days.

Dang I see you did it in just 600 games. Impressive.

congrats. I would be happy at 1600

Yes ,you can and you will. But it depends on how dedicated you are and how much time will you be able to invest in this game.

My guess for most people (unless u are >50,)

2 years of 1-2 hours/ day  for 1600

4 years of 1-2 hours / day for 2000+

Congrats OP that 2 replacing a 1 in your rating is nice.

Now get to 3000 fine sir

I broke into 1900 today, i could have done it faster but most of my lost games are because i lost connection, sleep deprivated or in the tc

Not to be rude, just wanted to point out that

"most people" have played over 4 years.

"most people" are not (and will never be) rated 2000.

And even if a coach is giving a student very specific work, and the student is highly motivated, I think 1-2 hours a day is very little, and not enough to be 2000 in 4 years.

Just my opinion.

2000 blitzed on this site--now that means something.

Chess.com should sponsor an after hours event where Nakamura streams himself playing blitz while sloppy drunk tongue.png
