Karjakin wins Candidates
Should be interesting. These two were the top two in their age groups growing up. Now they finally get to play each other for the title. Magnus is +3 -1 = 14 against Karjakin.

All his wins were with the white pieces and he won Anand, Caruana, Nakamura, and Topalov---two former world champions and the second highest rated chess player after current world champion Magnus Carlsen, as well as one of the very best speed-chess players in the world. Very impressive performance. The chess world finally begins the new generation as both champion and challenger were born in 1990:)

You are right. But I seem to grow old , I remember the Kasparov- Karpov battles of the 80s!!! Never mind! The new generation is here! Great chess ahead!

I think there's good chances for a very interesting WC match in September! Whatever reservations some people have with Karjakin's style being too similar to Magnus's (I'm not sure this is true) I think Sergey will bring something different to the table for sure. We'll have to wait to see what that might be!

So, Karjakin vs. Carlsen, how do you feel about that?
It's going to be refreshing with something other than Anandan vs. Carlsen; our Norwegian commentators were fearing that the old fox might make yet another comeback after having done well in this tournament.

Magnus will be heavy favorite. I guess the score is 6.5-4.5 in a twelve game match.

IMO Caruana deserved it because hes been pretty consistent since the last WC match. He pretty much hovered between 2-5 the whole time. Also pretty crappy that he could have held the draw vs Karjakin, been undefeated and tied for 1st, yet still lost on tiebreak. Karjakin had a really hot year and sort of came out of left field. I dont think at the end of the last WC people would have predicted he'd be the one facing Magnus.
Im not here to discredit Karjakin though, he's been on fire and made the most of it.

That's just how luck goes, sometimes you just have it.

It's over. At least that's what the commentators are saying.
