Kasparov is a great Chess champ! But because of him, Chess body was split. The man who worked for unification won!
"Kasparov defeated by Filatov" would be a more appropriate title. Kirsan is nothing more than a corrupt sockpuppet.

I, personally, think Kasparov would have been a better FIDE president. Illyumshinkov has served his term, now he should hand over the torch to someone with more knowledge of the actual game.

So friends, Garry Kasparov has been defeated by Incumbent President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov in a vote count of 110 to 61 in the race for FIDE Presidency at the recently concouded FIDE General Assembly!
Any views on that?
