Kasparov pocket chess moves pieces that don´t exist.

This has been happening for a while now, and it is quite annoying.
When the KPC indicates a move, it first gives the coordinates of the piece to be moved by 2 little lights, and after you pushed the indicated piece, the little lights indicate the spot it is supposed to go.
Mine had been occasionally skipping the first step for weeks. It just indicates where the piece has to go.
It won´t do anything untill you push a piece into the slot, so I´ll just have to take a piece and push it against the contact, and hit `take back`. And then it turns out he just moved a piece that doesn´t exist. Every time. Except for this one time, when it tried to castle while check.
Anyone any idea what is wrong with my Pocket Chess, or, more important, how to fix it?
