Chess24.com has live coverage with commentary I believe. Check it out there starts at 8pm GMT
Kasparov v. Short

Listen carefully for commentary... They might refer to Short's recent remark's that girls cannot play chess and to the match men against women...

From the news:
Despite showing signs of rustiness GM Garry Kasparov leads 3.5-1.5 in his rapid & blitz match with GM Nigel Short, who made a bushed impression after traveling from Thailand and defending his gender column to dozens of media and responding to counter arguments from Red Lantern Girls. Dubbed the “Battle of the Sexes,” the chess.com match between men and women that is meant to test GM Short's gender theories, is set to begin April 30... Worth noticing is that a single individual, who goes by the code name Chicken_Monster, has done much for recruiting women to this match. Speculations are rampant that even though this user pretends to be male, it is in fact a girl...
Ofcourse Maurice Ashley will bring up the article, he is all about that drama

Man I watched that game chicken Kasparov was on a killing spree. I have to give props to Nigel many people would of not been able to handle such a loss. He took it better than most I believe. 8.5 to 1.5 it wasn't an exhibition it was an execution

If he hadn't lost on time, it would have been 9.5-0.5... lol.
Yeah I have not watched that match yet I plan on watching it but from what I heard Garry lost on time in a winning position as well which man he is a beast. I have to admit I always been a Kasparov fan. However, I'm a Nigel Short fan starting today as well no one can take such a slaugther like that

After the first 2-3 games today the match was techinquely over Have to give Nigel some props for soldiering on. I thought that Garry would of let Nigel win 1 or 2 of the remaining matches or even draw to save some face etc.
lol Many GM's usually when they know they winning just try and slide by with remaining matches not Garry he went straight for the throat. The match was over but he didn't care he was on a mission of search and destory.

As no quarter, give no quater (as Led Zeppelin sang).
"Some people think that if their opponent plays a beautiful game, it’s OK to lose. I don’t. You have to be merciless."
~ Magnus Carlsen
Personally, I think Kasparov just wanted to come to the US to get away from Putin's wet works teams.

How much did they pay those guys?
Well Nigel said he had some Jet Lagg and was feelin tired and I can't blame him to much. It must of been very nerve racking to face someone like Garry Kasparov. I'm surpised he slept at all. If I had to face Garry I would be to nerves to sleep lol.

I could only imagine the presence of Garry Kasparov would be so intimidating and he is known for his aggressive play. I mean if Nigel had to face someone like Anatoly Karpov or Tigran Pestroian his nerves might of not been so rattled. They are intimidating as well but their positional style wouldn't perhaps rattle you as great I believe.
Compared to Garry Kasparov or Tal for that matter. Pure aggression on the chess board they are out for blood. Generally attacking players are considered very intimidating. THey are out to get you and what is worse is they can get you and they have destoryed tons of players before facing you. It is a very tough to over come that intimidation.
Doesn't this match start today?
