I know I'm lower rated, but motivation still counts. I try to set reachable goals for myself. Do a little better in the next tournament you enter, get to 1800 rated online chess, etc. Maybe that'll help?
Lacking chess motivation

My suggestion would be to play creatively. Let yourself take some risks (pawn sac, exchange sac, new opening) to keep the games interesting.

I need some help getting back my chess motivation. I used to play chess and join tournaments very often but I had to quit chess for one whole year because of school work. I recently joined a local tournament but I failed to play good in it.
