I have reported @vanyakuba, @Mr_AGM, @Christian_Kiernan, @MolecularChemist, and @Mayo_Nieghs, a few of the people who continue to simul. If this is naming and shaming I apologize.

I suspect these individuals simply do not know or they will pretend to not know simuling and/or intentionally playing people leagues below your rating was banned if and when staff decides to act.

You should also report @dragonb70 who is playing in arenas.

With the new rules it's illegal to:

"intentionally only playing lower rated opponents"

(of course I'm not serious. Just because he's breaking the rules doesn't mean that the idiot who wrote that rule understood what it meant).

wow you're in elite league!!!

Yes, mostly due to simuling in previous leagues. With it removed, I think the climb for me probably isn't worth it. I'm going to report any simulers I find and play a few hours tonight and see how I feel.

They've put themselves in a position of having to take trophies away from a lot of players who have put in many hours. How silly and unnecessary... no matter what happens a lot of people will be upset. I almost feel bad making fun of them at this point.

Yes, I confessed over here a few hours ago: League clarifications - Chess Forums - Chess.com

Was not aware simuls were banned 😭. I stopped simuls at 405 points, so I'm expecting at least that many points are going to be deducted, or kicked out of leagues all together, or an account closure... as was mentioned in https://www.chess.com/leagues . regrettable didn't check that link til today so... whoops 😐

Kinda a bummer really, I feel awful now lol. Never wanted to have an unfair advantage over anyone. Just changed from 3+0 blitz arenas to rapid simuls mid-week in crystal league to keep up.

Yes, because the next league is the Champion league.  This is the $50,000 money league.  So, things have been amped up a couple of notches.

In that case, apologies for reporting you, I didn't see your confesssion. I hope you only get the 405 trophies removed.

@penguingm1 is playing in bullet arenas too.

Under the new rules they should take away his trophies.

Is there a penalty for aborting games?

All good my friend! I feel bad enough that if the option was there, I'd report myself 🤣 I have no intention to cheat or game the system in any way, even inadvertently. Til today I just thought leagues were pretty much a free-for-all 🤣 Have you contacted any of the people who have still been doing rapid simuls/ playing lower rated (500-1500 rating points) to gain trophies? lol a sort of due diligence before reporting? I just mean, I was clueless, and I assume some others still are. If their points are going to be deducted we can save them some time and let them know League Rules 2.0 😁

It's not allowed to intentionally only play opponents who are lower rated than you. This means very high rated players can't play in arenas.

Exactly why I wasn't reporting anyone. Nobody should feel bad for breaking the rules unknowingly. This is chess.com's mess. Nobody else's.

Could they easily push a notification or pop up about the new rules?

I sent messages informing of the new rules to people who appear to be still playing rapid simuls in the elite league. Its probably more of a nuisance than it is helpful, but don't want anyone to lose any more time for what might soon be nonexistent trophies 🤣 (just mentioning in case anyone else was going to do the same¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )

As long as they are playing in arenas, the will be fine. It's trivial to see if playing lower rated players is due to arenas or other means.

The rules disagree with you.

Even allowing for incompetent rule makers (which I suppose at this point is a given) why is it not allowed for some players to play lower rated players exclusively, but it's ok for high rated players?

And even if the writers aren't... linguistically skilled... it's clear the rules read as if anything they're only covering the minimum cases, and readers should interpret them to extent to cases of unfairness that aren't explicitly mentioned. In other words the spirit of the rules also disallow players like Andrew Tang to play in bullet arenas.

Of course the only answer is this was not thought though in the past, and also in the present staff is still confused about what this contest is supposed to be.

I know for a fact that nothing is going to be done with strong players playing arenas. While high rated players in arenas are going to get mainly lower rated players, that is not what the rule is trying to prevent.

Is the rule trying to prevent, for example, adjusting your seeks to something like -400 / +50 ?
