Leagues have ruined chess.com

Leagues are exactly the same as ratings. They don't mean a thing. If you're bothered by them, just ignore them altogether. A pretty simple solution, if you ask me.

Basically leagues have encouraged people to play more chess, which naturally means that there are more cheaters playing more chess.k too. That’s okay because the Chess.com Fair Play team catches up with all of the obvious cheaters eventually - maybe not as quick as you’d personally like, but they get them eventually. The subtler cheaters require more time and evidence, but they generally get them eventually too. By encouraging more games from the same account rather than games across multiple accounts, leagues will help with that. It feels worse than it really is - it’s the same effect where you notice more of the red lights that stop you than the green lights that you just drive through

Totally agree, the ratings have become meaningless particularly on shorter time games...people with very low ratings suddenly producing amazing chess and then you see their overall rating was much higher 6 months ago...plus playing continually to move up a league just makes you play low quality chess and learn nothing...leagues should end now I think
