Umm, no. There's really no such thing as a left hand advantage at varsity level and above because one has enough skill to mitigate it. If you spar with lefties you become adapt at facing both handedness. Sometimes I just switch it for writing, we're just writing moves not a novel. I'm lefty but have my mouse on the right.
Left Handers

I'm referring to OTB. I could not only make my move (with my pen in my hand), but also punch the clock and write my move down slightly faster than my opponent (assuming I am playing as white). I was also curious if anyone thinks there is a psychological effect to it, sort of like hopping into your car and someone has moved the mirrors around (as a crude example of what I mean)

Among the current top 10, I think only Aronian is a leftie...
Only about 10% of people are left-handed.

So I'm an elite human?

I don't think there's any handedness advantage in chess, but there is an advantage in fencing: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20391153
During a match I always see the opponent recording their moves on the right side of the board (because they are right handed, of course)... But how about us lefties? We would place our move sheets on the left, in front of the clock. Do you thing this gives us an advantage, either by tripping up what your opponent is normally used to seeing, or by how we can hold our pen AND trigger the clock faster than a right handed person?
