I spend a considerable amount of time working on my computer in my room and sometimes I use my laptop to work in the front porch or in the tiki bar, but other than that I am in my room working on the PC.

Not too long ago I wanted to buy some chess t-shirts to put them on all week to motivate myself to study chess, and be in the zone every day of the week. However the shirts I got from chess.com were ridiculously small (they run on the extra small side) and the ICC t shirts I got fit me but they were also a tiny bit small.

However now I want to pimp out the room by decorating it as a chess room. black and white pictures, canvas wall art, posters, nice chess sets, nice house of staunton wooden boards, a book stand, or wall book stands for a chess book collection. among other things. any one know whats a must? does anyone know where we could find high quality chess photos to turn them into wall art?

Also, has anyone been able to find a wooden magnetic demonstration board? I have the standard magnetic one that everyone has but a wooden one would be ultimate.

I even considered a https://www.straightupchess.com/. these are pretty cool. I would get two, the wooden magnetic demonstration board AND the straight up chess. it would give the room that extra touch where you know your an addict. LOL.

do you know what else I have been meaning to get, a monroi, however its a bit extravagant to get. I think there is even an app for the phone which does the same thing and has been approved by the USCF (FIDE as well? not sure) however the monroi has something about it that makes it pretty cool https://www.monroi.com/products/personal-chess-manager.html

I will be honest, I am possibly 2 years away from playing in tournaments half the year so it means that its too soon to get it. Also the monroi is for playing in tournaments, not really for the man cave.

I happen to have a table, this one here:

Those are good also for like a dinner table or one to put your laptop on.

I am really going crazy over the wall art with the pictures. getting some canvases, or some posters, or some small portraits of every world champion.

what else should we get?

getting a nice tv/monitor and having some one install it on the wall has to be quite pleasant as well, however the installation part is a ridiculous extra expense.

do you know where you could find incredible chess stuff? at etsy, you can see some stuff here

https://www.etsy.com/search?q=chess+wall+decor&ref=search_bar

however, you need to search correctly, like you cant just put "chess" in the search bar because all you will get are chess sets, however if you put "chess wall decor" you will get a ton of stuff.

Anyhow, any ideas?

some cigars? LOL, or vodka. I am just kidding. a nice chess DVD collection would be nice, I have been going crazy over all the stuff at modern-chess.com. I think they are better than the Chessbase DVDs. and to be frank, I think those modern-chess.com dvds, if you watch enough of them, you might be a couple of steps away of adding, i dont know, 100 rating points to your rating? I think thats possible.

I always considered a chess man cave to have a library of chess books and chess sets.
