Letter from C.O.T to the Phillipine groups and every member of chess.com

People have been killed, and hundreds of thousands affected by severe flooding across the Philippines. Wide areas of the capital Manila are under water, with schools and businesses forced to close.

 Headlines like these occur far too often in this vast world we all strive to survive in. Why, where and when nature decides to strike with all its force is unknown, and innocent people are pushed beyond human endurance to their limits. This time nature has chosen the Philippines’ to yet again devastate another beautiful country with its blind, relentless power.

 Although many members of our team live far away from your motherland we are still affected by your loss and by the struggles you have before you.

We at C.O.T have four members from the Philippines and no doubt other Chess.com teams are blessed with players from your country. All our team members send to our brothers across the vast seas and lands that lie between us, our heartfelt thoughts to you all and to your relatives and friends.

We pray that the carnage you are enduring will be over soon and that your country will recover and gain strength from the help, good wishes and love from the peoples of this world.
