As black I usually play the kings Indian defense or the pirc defense but I often find myself struggling to get the light squared bishop out of the back rank. I wanted to know if anyone could give me advice on how to better get the light squared bishop out or refer me to games played using the pirc or the kid

Get it out to where? That light-square Bishop is important, since your center Pawns will be on dark squares. Why risk seeing it exchanged, by bringing it out?

Besides, the Bishop can support your K-side counter-play perfectly well from its original square.
