this is an excerpt from a lightning game (60 second no increment) that I played. in the last 2-5 seconds when this position was reached I saw that Qd5+ would lose as it allows white to play King g4 and get his King into the drawing zone in the h1 corner (not going to bore you all with basics you surely know--Q and P vs Q with a center pawn the defending king has to either get in front of the pawn or retreat into the h1 corner in order to draw) and so with 2 seconds or so on the clock I played Qd7+ not allowing my opponent to draw (I'm sure he saw the draw as it's quite obvious) and converted the full point with my extremely accurate and flawless endgame technique.
