You'll find some good pointers / principals here.
(There are too many for me to copy and paste them all here.)

tmpacc2012 - I'm not sure if you are referring to the ebook or these pointers/principals.
MEC - Thanks for the link. Many of the links were dead, but there was some useful stuff.
Here is something I read that was really interesting:
*"The more symmetric a position is, the more a material advantage is meaningful." Corollary: The more you are behind, the more asymmetric (both in terms of pawns and type of material imbalance) you want it to be. If you are behind, it is better not to have a subset of your opponent's material, but rather an imbalance (better to be down the exchange than two pawns, etc.). If you are ahead, better to be up a superset of your opponent's material than be ahead on some type of imbalance. -
It's interesting to see some useful advice when you've fallen into a less than promising position.
It is technical principals like this I am looking for.
take care,

I see. Thanks for the heads up.
I got the books for free and after just reading a little of it, my game has started to improve.
So I've gotten my moneys' worth I suppose.
I would like to ask that this not turn into a discussion about Silman or his books.
I would, however, be interested in any of these 1 liners that give technical pointers.
Hello,
I have been reading Silmans How To Reassess Your Chess.
I noticed he often quotes general pointers such as - If the center files are open, it is rarely a good idea to decentralize your forces(pp 107).
I also know there are many others such as capturing center pawns with another pawn is generally better if the retaking piece is a pawn or it is usually best to castle during or shortly after developing your pieces.
Anyone know where I might find a list of these types pointers? They don't have to be Silmans. They can just be general pointers all chess players should know.
If you don't know of a list, could you post some of your favorite ones here? Perhaps if there is enough input, I will compile a list and post it.
take care,
lee
