Pressing F11 is what I ended up doing, I hit it, play my games then hit it again to return to "normal" screen, works quite well, thank you to those of you who are passing that tip around.

Maybe you've just gotten bigger, megabreath. 
Why has the live chess board suddenly got really small? A week or so it was full screen. It's not my computer doing it as others I know have the same "problem".
