Live vs online chess

Are the ratings for seperate for online vs live chess?? because I have won 3 live chess games but am still playing my first online ones and my live chess ratings go up but my online stays the same? Clarification would be awesome! Thanks.

Yes. In fact you have three separate ratings just for live chess: bullet (1 minute), blitz (under 15 min) and standard (15 min or longer).

Which ratings do the tournaments go by?? your online or live?

Tournaments are only offered for turn-based play, so obviously they would go by your turn-based ranking.
