Wish you luck.
Thanks.
If you start posting stuff that is profane, racist, sexist, homophobic, misogynistic, islamophobic etc etc etc then sure, we'll be happy to lock the thread. If it's really bad (e.g. pornography), then we won't lock the thread but will just delete it instead, and the perpetrator will (most likely) be warned or muted or disabled, depending on our assessment of the situation.
Discussing methods of cheating or posting about our competitors are also against our Terms of Service and will also get this thread locked or deleted.
We also moderate the "Off Topic" category less actively, so your thread might get moved over to there if we decide not to lock it.
Personally, I think it's unjustified hyperbole to call our approach "totalitarian" - I'm pretty sure we won't be sending any secret police around your way to "have words" about your public utterances any time soon...
The forums for freedom of speech are in "off topic". This is general chess discussion.
Glad someone else has noticed as well - I think I will move this over there.
I always find it odd how many people post things that are clearly not related to chess in the "general chess discussion" forum. It's like they can't read the word "chess" in that phrase and they start talking about non-chess things. I'm glad this was moved to the "off topic" category as it should have been posted here initially.

so if it's soft core porn, you may just get muted. lol. what a crock.
If the moderator likes the porn, he'll keep the thread open for a while, if it's not his style, closed and deleted permanently end of discussion ![]()
They do a vote on if it's worthy or not.
BTW, can't believe we just ressurected a thread over 2 years old...
The OP closed their own account before Chess.com updated their tools to start indicating the different reasons for account closure through the symbols and/or description: if the account had been closed for Abuse or a Fair Play violation, this thread would no longer be visible..
Any sort of porn is almost certainly going to get you disabled; I thought that was obvious - that's at the high end of the range of things that will get a thread deleted and the poster's account disabled.
Lol @ Nazi staff locking threads they don't agree with.
In case you didn't know, I'm a philosophical libertarian. Please lock this thread and show me more totalitarian nonsense from a forum that should be a pillar for freedom of speech.
