Justs99171, well believe it or not man but not everybody plays chess with the intent of studying or becoming good at it. Some just play for fun. For those people, a simple system that won't get them into early trouble is perfect for them.

That would be a great setting great patzer! Not that hard to arrange, I know some London System authors that got crushed by me several times blindfolded. If they dont arrange this match for us I will post the games on facebook and share them with their customers. See you on the battlefield!

well. ok. yes blind folded but I will use a Blank board. I guess this makes the game half blindfolded.
I'm been playing sicilian games like this against a weak chess computer.

At top levels, I don't think Carlsen will be playing it against Karjakin this year. Perhaps if he is leading the match, has white, and only needs a draw.

London = Reversed Slav. Lots of other systems for white are simply variations of black systems using to first move "advantage," without insisting on maintaining that advantage.
KIA, Botvinik version of the English, Larsen's Attack (@Queen's Indian), Reversed Schlecter Grunfeld, and probably a few others.
Essentially, you don't need to study white sytems, independentely, in order to complete your opening repetoire.
What's not to like? Save lots of time, headaches, and $$ on opening books.
As for post #118, an early c3 by white leaves the game essentially equal. P.S., IM Lakdawala is a terrible writer, but I have all his books on both the London and Modern.
And if you want a "equal game" from London versus Modern, just run both side on Houdini. Very Simple.
P.S., an early c5 by black, followed by taking white's pawn on d4, will equalize in quite a number of black defensive systems. That's the point. White doesn't care about retaining the first move advantage. It's not a BFD under USCF 2000. Nor should it be, for the 90 percent of U.S. tournament chess tournament players below USCF 1800.
