Thanks very much. Is there a disadvantage to someone 1800 teaching you as opposed to someone 2000? I understand that one is obviously a stronger player, but does that necessarily transfer into teaching? I feel like I could learn from someone who is 1400 haha.
GreedyPawnGrabber, do you have a website? I notice you're not listed with chess.com
Thanks again! I appreciate the replies.
Hi, Its great to see that you are looking for coaching. Anyway, as you said, the higher the rating the more knowledge one has- however that doesn't necessarily transfer over into teaching. GM's of course are the strongest players around, but just because they are good at the game doesn't mean that they can successfully transfer that knowledge to their students! All of my students have improved because I am able to help get that knowledge to them in a clear and concise way. I do tend to run a bit overtime on lessons, but that is simply because I want my students to succeed. Anyway, I sent you a message with more details, so perhaps you can talk to me from there.
Thanks,
Eric
I think that a stronger player can teach a beginer like us ONLY if he is a good teacher.Or, their level will be inacessible.
Pawnpusher is young and his rating is going to grow a lot.He specilized in puting beginners in 1600+.After this you can get Awn Rats, NM, Pawnpusher's boss.
haha, NM Aww-Rats is not my "boss", he is just a friend of mine whom I work with quite often. I generally work with a lot of titled players just simply because I am friends with them- not because they are my "boss"

Hello everyone,
Not sure if this is the proper place for this or not, but I can move it if there is a better place.
I know that Chess.com offers a list of teachers, but I find that there are very few that have a description more than a few lines long - if any at all.
I am looking for a chess teacher that is available online(for my time zone), will assign homework, charges $50 (or less), teaches from beginner to advanced, currently accepting students and a silly preference of mine - a Christian (doesn't have to be).
Again, if this is the wrong spot please let me know.
Thank you very much! :)
