Looking for Chess Software

Hello

I'm a novice-intermediate player looking for good chess software to help me improve my game.

The computer I'll be installing it on has a dual-core processor but no internet connection

I was thinking either (Deep) Rybka 3 or (Deep) Fritz 11 would fit the bill, though I don't know the fine points of either. I'm opting for a friendly interface (I don't know any technical jargon of the chess world) and good training features.

Suggestions?

Rybka is the strongest program, but then since you're not going to beat it anyway, even Fritz is plenty strong. Rybka has the Aquarium(?) interface available now ... it's supposed to be nice. Fritz has the ChessBase style interface as its motif. You could hardly go wrong with either.
