My company is Passed Pawns Chess Club LLC. The company website is http://passedpawnschessclub.webs.com.

In order to ensure you are up to par for teaching, I would like for you to go to your local library, bookstore or amazon.com and purchase / rent the book: “How To Reassess Your Chess Workbook by: Jeremy Silman” - Also How to Reassess Your Chess 4th Edition. The workbook is a very helpful book I use in my teachings once the basics are taught. These books have information which is VERY important to study and understand 100% so you may give the instruction in a manner which you understand and can fully explain. Any other books you may find in your quest will be very helpful for you. I would also suggest searching amazon.com for "50 Essential Chess Lessons By: Steve Giddins." Other requirements for my tutors include having a www.chess.com account, premium membership ($4.99 per month at the least) to sharpen your skills each day with the “Tactics Trainer.” I am requiring that my tutors do at the very least 25 exercises each day. An official USCF rating is a plus, however not required.

The ideal teacher must:

Be patient and goal oriented.

Organized and self-motivated.

Experienced in creating lesson plans (or willing to learn how to) according to each students individual needs.

Keep a record of subjects covered for progress reporting.

I have a lot of useful materials in which I will provide to help the ideal teacher to be highly organized.

Any description of incentives? Money helps. And a reason why a qualified coach would not want to run his own show as opposed to sign you up to be his boss?

Don't get me wrong, your mail indicates that you've thought this through and want committed, qualified chess.com members to be part of your team.

Though if want to rope in talent, you really have to make public  a business plan that either leverages off:

- your qualifications as a businessman, instructor or a highly skilled chess player/coach yourself. I searched your site and didn't find any.

- what you bring to the table that an existing chess instructor doesn't already have. Useful materials to help me be organized? That's great ... but only just that? . .. but your post describes the "stick" (what your staff will be "required" to do to satisfy your needs, books to read, puzzles to solve) but where's the "carrot"?

Thank you for your comment. My site offers a way for parents/guardians or students (or both) to connect with one another. There is a members section where users can create their own profiles, with required guiding questions to sell themselves. My site offers a way for coaches to do online lessons, as well as host tournaments to make extra income.

I did not mention on the site, but I do have a bachelors degree in business administration. I did not want to advertise that fact, simply because I am trying to offer a service to coaches who do not know how to get started on their own. I have been teaching kids/adults now for over ten years and I have had much success with it. My goal is to drive students and parents to my site in order to connect with coaches in their area.

Thanks for the clarification. Hope you get a few responses!

I find it hard to take the claims that students of chess online can improve maths and social skills to be honest. Good luck with the venture though.
