You really have to have some information up, including a picture, in order to make friends. The picture helps me remember that there's a human being at the other end of the internet!
Definitely, a picture is necessary, just be outgoing and portray your real personality!!

Make a Profile of who you are and what you like to do with your time. Without a profile it becomes hard to look for a friend.
Or make a post looking for friends but remember to let new friends know what type of person you want for friends.
