Looking For Help From Some Experienced Players

So obviously as anyone who looked at my rating can tell, I’m a beginner, and I’m sure right off the bat this already looks like a very cliche, corny advice seeking post... but what I’m looking for is someone who’s truly been/is either a regular tournament player and has trained under a coach and now uses online chess to practice a lot, of as their man way of play.. or someone who has simply just played online chess for a loooooooong time and has grown to really really become very strong at this game...

Ive been floating around 1000 to 1060 for the last couple months ... I’ve been playing for only 10 months now, but since probably February, the only thing I’ve really done besides work is play/read about chess or watch chess. I’m very addicted to it and my personality has completely changed because of this game.. (maybe not the greatest thing for my reclusiveness) and I just really wanna become a very strong player and eventually possibly find a club and start playing much more competitively and maybe in tournaments once Covid ends.

Could anyone with some good experience maybe direct me to some good videos on YouTube that could possibly help out with my understanding of chess logic at some better depth.. or even maybe some other websites or books... I do a lot of puzzle on my app, and I occasionally do some puzzles here on chess.com, and I watch of course Agad, ChessBase India , and St Louis Chess Club a lot... and I love studying checkmate patterns and openings.

I personally feel that I’ve come along alright for only 10 months.. but I wanna eventually... become very very very good.. just anything to start building on from here helps so much and is very appreciated. Thank you to anyone who took the time to read this... I truly hope you can kind of understand how serious I’ve become about getting good at this game... I’m sure it sounds like something every other patzer would say.. but idk.. I’m addicted to the game.. and I just want some serious advice and direction.

Hi! Before I start I would like to introduce myself. When you look at my rating it's not the best because I do not play online chess that often, but trust me my real rating is good.tongue.png I play in tournaments frequently and I once had a personal coach. I have been playing for 8 years. A YouTube Chess Channel I recommend is "agadmator's Chess Channel." He reviews games from Grandmasters and analyze's each move and he gives good advice in his videos. In your post I read you do a lot of puzzles, so I think you would like/enjoy this book. The book's title is "CHESS 5334 Problems, Combinations, and Games." The author is Laszlo Polgar. He is the father of 3 of the best Woman Grandmasters!! The first part of the book is all puzzles. The first section is mate in 1, the second section is mate in 2, and the 3rd section of the puzzles is mate in 3. They get harder as you go, but don't worry there is an answer key at the back of the book. The second part of the book is 600 miniature games by famous Grandmasters. It looks like you improved really fast in the 10 months you were playing. Some personal advice from me that I learned from my 8 years of experience is sometimes when you feel like your rating is going down just take a break from chess and come back when you are ready. Learn new openings and then use them in chess games because that's when you really start to improve. And finally don't give up because it looks like you are going to be great player in the future! I'm really sorry if this post was long, but I hope this helps! Feel free to ask me any questions. happy.png

I’m definitely not the strongest player out there, but here are some books that some of my more higher rated friends (think 2000) keep pestering me to read:

Logical Chess: Move by Move

Silman’s Complete Endgame Course

My 60 Memorable Games

I personally like @Silman’s articles.
