Looking six "deep" for knight "forks" !

Me and my opponent have gone through our "book" opening and are now focused and playing through the "center". We are both "looking down the road " for an advantage that is in our favor. That road is a "minefield" for the tactically "challenged" or the positional "weakling". At some point, somebody is going to "impose" their will on somebody ! This is MY mindset from this point: The first move that "deviates" from the "book" line, my tactical "antenna" goes up and stays up, I have found my "canidate" moves and i (TRY) to analize them at least 5 or 6 moves "ahead". When i lose a game it will be because MY ATTACK FAILED. the further "down" that road that i can "see", the better my chances.! That is my approah to this game called chess !!  Smile

I "also" have an "approach"

Although you have an absurd amount of quotes, and that's obviously what this thread is going to be about, you have outlined a pretty good path to chess improvement for the neophyte correspondence chess player.

1 - Study tactics and middlegame strategy.

2 - Study endgames.

3 - Ignore openings, instead just following book moves as far as you can.

4 - When you run out of book moves, start looking for tactics.

5 - When you can't find any tactics, start looking for strategies.

MR Sqyzyphnt: This thread was meant for serious OTB tournament chessplayers. If guys are dropping 5 and 6 move combos on you , i would "assume" they have the "basics" down pat. The one thing you will not have to study is the endgame because YOU will never get there !!! Cool

"I" "d""o""n""'""(Even I got "confused" here)t" "u""n""d""e""r""s""t""a""n""d""," "w""h""y" "e""v""e""r""y""o""n""e" "i""s" "m""a""k""i""n""g" "f""u""n" "o""f" "t""h""e" "O""P""."

To "further" "imitate" our "friend":"This" "thread" is not for the "mentally" "challenged". My "attempt" to go get a "drink" from the "bar" failed because I was not "looking down the road" and now I am in "hospital" hooked up to an "IV Machine". MY ATTACK on "Russia" FAILED because I "invaded" during the "winter".

Thanks, I see that you are one of the few here with a sense of humor.

Let me rephrase my question and reset the marker can YOU find that knight fork five or six moves "deep." This has to be one of the most difficult tacical motiffs  in all of chess, I am looking (no quotes Tongue out) for them at that depth but i will be the first to admit things get a little FUZZY !!!
