thursday noonish played a little better today more wins than losses mainly because my opponents where really blunder makers -- nothing to do with my skill at setting them up - mainly weaker players even though some had higher ranks than me - so i will take the wins but don't feel good about it -- maybe later after my med nap i will try again- i guess if i get lucky again and play weaker players i could get up into the high 100's--- maybe

THURDAYS after my med nap -- well i got to 200 thats been weeks since that happened i must be playing a lot of blunder prone players to let me get that high my play has been really sloupy just my opponents make a more blunders than i do and i make a lot iam afraid - lets see what after supper has to offer i am sure by then the ghost will be up and i will be playing players who are going to take me to the cleaners --need just to look at the board as a whole more than just my next move

TUESDAY NOONISH -- really off my game today 4 losses in row- spent last four days doing puzzles and reading books in hospital no internet so reading chess books -- so confusing to understand -- but a couple things came through still didn't help with any games but forward sometimes or in my case most times is won cm by cm at home now so back to playing after med nap see what happens hope not the same

if i could find a program that teaches a good beginner type system each lesson that builds on the other that din not cost anything i would -- but i am on a fixed low pension with extra medical costs that does not leave much left for lessons its called between a rock and a hard place so i just play and look at u-tube for ideas -- iam reading a book right now got at the library called improving your chess by fred reinfeld -- but it hard to follow his diagrams have much to be desired in making what he talking about to point - but iam picking up some pointers just very slow and most things i pick up reading never come into play when i play or if they do i miss them --- thursday before med nap played even chess same number losses than wins - so maybe later i can get a plus game in their some how trying to get over150 today

four days off playing -- so not to bad three wins two losses -- will play tomorrow more

You have to learn an opening man. Check out some opening lessons on youtube and focus on learning one opening for white and one for black. Playing random stuff is a waste of time.

Longer time controls (15'+3" and up), do many puzzles (starting from basic mate in one puzzles- why not?) and spare some tima analyzing all the games you have played.

Literally the worst kind of advice you can give to someone rated 100-something.

So you recommend to start playing chess without any opening knowledge, push any pawn to start the game, bring the queen out and no plan needed? Youre a bright one arent you

I DON'T RECOMMEND ANYTHING iam a very poor player -- TRIED LEARNING STANDARD OPENINGS AND I ALWAYS LOST NOT ONCE DID I WIN - so iam trying to come with some opening that will at least get me to maybe move 30 that is my goal and once in a while i will win not very often but more than never as it was trying to follow the rules of openings -- for some its the right approach but for me --not so much -- i enjoy playing trying to find that elusive opening that will work for me -- if you look at my games you will see iam trying new things all the time not winning but then i wasn't before so i have nothing to lose

getting too frustrated to keep playing tried some ten min games they where worse play then 3 min games -- i will play some bots for a while to calm myself down -- can't go to poker tonight lost to much this morning so its bots or tv hummmmmmmmmmm bad monkey is on will try again tomorrow morning fresh start

LOSTATCHESS

all loses this afternoon back to 100 i will more than likely be at 100 for a while till i come up with plan on my opening ---maybe i will go back to my original opening and see what that brings one or two more games till my frustration factor takes over and i go back to playing poker till supper

LOSTATCHESS

friday afternnoon nothing to report lost all games back to 100 again playing bots next-- seems like more fun for my time spent here maybe i will learn something

sunday afternoon lost all games six in row -- but the depressing thing of losing points wasn't there ----- cause i am at 100 and there is nowhere else to go played the bots last night some fun in that -- really can't learn anything from them but when you lose they always have a great comment at the end -- well try a couple of more games with my old method of opening see what happens -- after supper will try a tournament just to goof around till my meds kick in for the night
